SlingPlayer for iPhone
June 7th, 2009Ever heard of a Slingbox? It’s a thingamadoo that lets you watch your home television on your computer wherever you are. I don’t own one, but it’s pretty damn neat.
So you can guess where I’m going with this. Yep, there is now the SlingPlayer app for your iPhone and iTouch. You are now never away from your home television as long as you are with your iPhone.
MacWorld thinks it has some issues and is a bit pricey. And at $30, it is a bit on the high side. But my excitement isn’t so much for the current app, but what they will eventually have once they get the kinks worked out. You essentially have your home DVR with you and can watched saved programs, fast forward, pause, all of it.
Very cool, even though I’ll probably never actually get it.
